Kim has worked in the public relations field for more than 20 years. As an internationally recognized communicator she has provided public relations support, expertise and training for numerous organizations in both the public and private sectors.
She most recently served Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital as its Vice President of Communications and Development. During her tenure with the hospital, Kim received numerous awards and accolades for her public relations initiatives and, in 2009, was named Communicator of the Year by the Ontario Hospital Association. As well, over the course of five years at the helm, she raised more than $12 million for the hospital’s foundation.
In 2002, Kim launched Spirou & Associates Communications and Marketing Inc. Prior to branching out on her own, Kim pioneered and led Media Street’s public relations division and played a key role in advising clients on media relations, issues management, social marketing, publicity, communications planning and crisis communication.
She also spearheaded Media Street’s research wing. She conducts both quantitative and qualitative research studies for clients who benefit from her advice on marketing strategies, policy and issues management.
Before joining Media Street, Kim was with the Windsor Board of Education managing the Communications Department. While at the Board, Kim developed and implemented an award-winning public relations program.
Kim has worked in Toronto as a Research Analyst with For/cast Communications a division of Decima where she facilitated focus group studies and conducted quantitative research studies for a wide range of clients.
Kim devotes a great deal of energy to community projects. As an active Rotarian and Past-President of the Windsor Roseland Rotary Club she is involved in several local fundraising initiatives and international humanitarian projects. She is also active with the Windsor and District Chamber of Commerce, having served on its board and on the ATHENA Committee.
